The Gospel
It wouldn’t be right for me to talk about faith on this blog without sharing the foundations on which the Christian faith is built. What is the Gospel? Why does it exist? What does it mean for you and I today?
If these are some of the questions running through your mind, I suggest you start by reading my blog on Christianity 101 to help you understand the core foundations of the Christian faith.
You were created by God, to be in a relationship with God.
Is there something in you that senses there’s something missing? Like there’s a gap to be filled?
It may not be a feeling you acknowledge every day but an inkling that brews up within you every now and then. Maybe you’ve tried to fill this gap with success, money, relationships, substances. Maybe they’ve worked, at least for a little while. Yet, they don’t seem to satisfy your deepest hunger.
The one relationship that will, is the one between you and God – your Creator. It’s only in relationship with the one who created you that you find the true meaning and purpose for your life.
“Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.”
John 6:35

Sin has separated us from God.
Have you heard the story of Adam & Eve?
As the first humans to walk the earth, they had a good standing with God. Until the day they tried to be God and as a result, sinned against Him. From that day, sin became an ongoing issue for us humans.
To sin is to do something that’s against the will of God.
God, being perfect by nature, has perfect (holy) standards. He hates sin! Yet, as imperfect humans, we’ve all done wrong and constantly fall into sin.

“for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23
But, stay with me, this isn’t how the story ends. There’s Good News!
Salvation is a Gift.
This is where salvation comes in.
It’s likely you’ve heard the name of Jesus at some point in your life. To help you understand who He is and the purpose He carried, here’s the low down…
Jesus (the Son) was sent by God (the Father) to earth. He suffered death on the cross so that you and I could be restored with the Father. Jesus nailed every sin that you and I have made to that cross, once and for all.
Through the greatest act of love and sacrifice, you have been forgiven of everything you’ve done wrong. It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or what has been done to you, God invites you into a relationship with Him.
That’s right, He invites you. He loves you so much that He’s given you the choice. His greatest desire is that you would accept His invitation for restoration, healing, and freedom.
Will you accept God’s gift today?
“If you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.”
Romans 10:9

It’s as simple as accepting the invitation.
So, if you’re ready to accept the best gift you’ll ever be given, you can say this quick prayer. You don’t have to be in a church or with a pastor/minister. You can speak with God right now, wherever you are.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your overwhelming, perfect love. A love that led you to give your only Son so that I could be in a relationship with you.
Right now, I accept your invitation. I receive Jesus as my Lord and Saviour.
I thank you that through his death and resurrection, I’ve been made right with you.
From this day forward, I choose to do life with you.
In Jesus name,
Amen
If you just said that prayer, congratulations! This is the best decision you’ll ever make!
I don’t want you walking this journey alone – contact me to let me know so I can be praying for you, too!
If you’re yet to make a decision, that’s ok.
I encourage you to reach out to God and ask Him to make Himself known to you – God answers prayer!
